Ed Sanders, founding member of The Fugs and politically outspoken poet made his legendary return to the stage at the Prague Writers Festival of 2005. The performance also provided the first chance for Sanders to perform with The Plastic People of the Universe, the Czech band whose fight against the Czechoslovakian government received vocal support from The Fugs. The Plastics formed against the wallpaper of communism, “condemned to hope”. They picked up tunes from the Fugs, the Mothers of Invention and the Velvet Underground and eventually played behind bars, laying down the basic tracks for the Velvet Revolution. The album will be available in a limited edition gatefold digipack with an added 12 page booklet documenting the history leading to this magical night. Limited pressing of 500 worldwide.
