DYNAMIC 1980 BROADCAST RECORDING FROM JGB

The Jerry Garcia Band remained the most important of the Grateful Dead main-man’s side-projects, running as it did from 1975 until Jerry’s sad passing in 1995. The band toured and recorded sporadically throughout its twenty-year existence, but over the years the line-up changed many times; the one constant member, besides Jerry, was bassist John Kahn. • The show now included on this CD is a broadcast recording transmitted from The Calderone Concert Hall, Hempstead, NY, on 29th February 1980, when Garcia was joined by the then current line-up of JGB, which featured John Kahn on bass, Johnny D'Fonseca on drums, and David Ahlers on keyboards. A dynamic show from almost 40 years ago, presented here in superb audio quality, this rare recording of the band’s entire show that night is now available as a single disc edition for the first time
