Perhaps the only true country-music-supergroup, The Highwaymen formed in 1985, but for their first two albums, both on Columbia
Records, they did not record under the name they later adopted (taken from the Jimmy Webb song which featured on their debut) but
instead were credited as Nelson, Cash, Jennings and Kristofferson.

By their third studio release in 1995, The Road Goes On Forever, on Liberty Records, they were credited as The Highwaymen, the
name they had informally adopted and generally been known under since the start.
