The Rolling Stones, live on BBC Radio, 1964 - 1965

'In view of the past increase of interest in rhythm & blues groups in Britain, an exceptionally good future is predicted for us by many people,' Brian Jones wrote to the BBC in January 1963. His audition request was turned down, but they’d soon changed their mind, and between that autumn and the summer of 1965, the Stones recorded numerous radio sessions for the Beeb. This, the third of three volumes, captures them between July 1964 and August 1965, playing an increasing number of their own songs. Containing some of the most vital British R&B ever recorded, it’s essential for serious Stones fans, and comes together with background notes and images.
