SUPERB LATE 1970s FM BROADCAST RECORDING FROM THE BORN-AGAIN TOUR
-
Randy Newman’s sixth album, Born Again, was released in August of 1979 to less favourable reviews than its five predecessors, and
lower sales in the US too.
-
However, while the new record took on a relatively different style to those that came before, it was still full of excellent songs, many of
which stood as equals to the generally considered Newman classics, notably so in the case of ‘Half A Man’ and ‘The Story Of A Rock and
Roll Band’.
-
When Newman performed in Rotterdam, Holland shortly after the album’s release however, out of a total of 26 songs performed, only four
were from Born Again, the remainder coming from his previous records.
-
The show however featured a quite superb performance from the great man, and over the course of eighty or so minutes he gave an
extraordinary walk through the Randy Newman songbook, which the audience were clearly in raptures over.
-
Recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast this previously unreleased concert is finally now available for fans everywhere to own for the first
time, on this new CD.
