Widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Jimi Hendrix redefined rock music with his groundbreaking style, fusing blues, psychedelia and raw improvisation. Born in Seattle in 1942, Hendrix rose to fame in the mid-1960s after moving to London, where his dazzling technique and explosive stage presence earned him instant acclaim. Though his career was tragically brief – cut short in 1970 at the age of 27 – his influence reshaped the sound of modern music, inspiring generations and leaving an indelible mark through his musical virtuosity.
During his lifetime, Hendrix released just three studio albums with his band, The Experience: Are You Experienced (1967), Axis: Bold As Love (1967) and Electric Ladyland (1968), each pushing the boundaries of guitar-driven rock. He also delivered one of the most iconic live albums ever recorded with an alternate line-up, Band Of Gypsys (1970). These works, filled with both fiery innovation and soulful depth, remain cornerstones of rock history.
