Regular price £14.50

Evocative photo book capturing early days of Factory Records

Part of Café Royal Books photographic publications series, this edition celebrates Daniel Meadows' photographs of Tony Wilson's early Factory Records roster, including Ian Curtis and Bernard Sumner of Joy Division, Vini Reilly of the Durutti Column, producer Martin Hannett, A Certain Ratio, and as a wild card, The Buzzcocks.

Meadows is a legend of social British photography. In 1973, he ran the Free Photographic Omnibus, a double decker bus that travelled England, with a fitted darkroom and living space, recording powerful portraits of everyday people in around twenty different towns. Some of these photos became his first book Living Like This.

This evocative set of photographs were taken during Meadows' further travels in the North of England in the late 1970s.
