Perhaps the most enduring, popular and skilled female singer and composer of the rock-age, Joni Mitchell’s body of work across the forty years she has released music – her last album was released in 2007, since when she has sadly suffered major health issues – has no equal. • In celebration of this extraordinary performer and composer’s work, comes this delightful triple CD set which features some of her rarest and most sought after live broadcast recordings in existence. • DISC ONE features songs recorded for Joni’s very first television performances from 1965 and 1966, for Oscar Brand’s show ‘Let’s Sing Out’, recorded while Mitchell was just 22. • DISC TWO contains one of her slightly later shows, her first at the famous Second Fret Club in Philadelphia, captured by the city’s Temple University radio station, WRTI, in November 1966, and broadcast across the local area. A venue she clearly enjoyed performing at as she returned several more times. • DISC THREE completes this collection with a broadcast recorded more than a decade and a half later, at Holland’s Congresgebouw venue in the Hague, a show generally considered the girl’s best from her 1983 Refuge World Tour, while promoting her first album for Geffen, Wild Things Run Free.
