Psychedelic Music; The sound of revolution and dreams. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, music was more than just entertainment – it became the voice of a generation searching for freedom, identity and a better world. The psychedelic music scene was at the heart of this movement, alive in smoky clubs, sun-drenched festivals and creative studios between San Francisco, London and Detroit. Psychedelic rock – improvised, ecstatic, experimental – combined folk, blues, jazz and soul with new, mind-expanding soundscapes. Groups such as Quicksilver Messenger Service, Joy of Cooking, The Undisputed Truth and Steppenwolf created musical spaces for political messages, poetic images and a feeling of boundless freedom. It was a time of change: protests, free love, new ways of thinking – carried by songs that combined inner transformation and social vision. Whether feminist (Joy of Cooking), funky and critical (The Undisputed Truth) or raw and rebellious (Steppenwolf) – every voice was part of a collective dream. Rainbow's End revives 12 of these masterpieces – with original titles from that era and psychedelic artwork by Amsterdam artist Rik Nieuwdorp. A sonic and visual journey through time into the sound of rebellion – and dreams.
